The Auction

This is a different twist on Maya and Ser chief’s love story.  Hindi kasi ako makatulog kaya sabi ko “Sige na nga isulat mo na.”  Hmmm, but I hope that you’re going to enjoy this 🙂 Kapit-bisig everyone!!!

And yes Happy Birthday to my fellow b-sister, baby baks, this is dedicated to you.  To Twinny, you’re kinda part of this fic so I hope you don’t mind 🙂 Love you guys!!!

CHAPTER 1

“SOLD!!!”

It’s all Rafi’s fault.  Hindi niya alam kung bakit siya pumayag sa kalokohan ng tinuturing pa naman niyang matalik na kaibigan.  Yes it is for a charity pero ngayon parang gusto na niyang umurong sa napag-usapan nila ng kaibigan.

“Please Chard, pumayag ka na please, please.” Rafi is practically begging him to say Yes.

Pumunta ito sa opisina ni Richard to talk to him about the fund-raising event that she is organizing.  Magmula ng magpakasal ito kay Charlie ay nag-for-good na ang mga ito sa Pilipinas but still travelling kapag may time.  Ngayon nga ay abalang-abala ito sa mga charity which benefits the children.

“Rafi, alam mo ba kung anong hinihingi mo sa akin.” Hindi niya malaman kung matatawa ba siya o maiinis sa kaibigan.

“But Chard this is all for charity.  I know naman na bukod sa guwapo ka, you also have a golden heart.” Pang-uuto pa nito sa kaibigan.

“Puwede naman akong magbigay ng pera, hindi naman ako mahirap kausap kapag ganyan kaso lang yung hinihingi mo mahirap.”

“Richard minsan naman lumabas ka sa comfort-zone mo and anong mahirap dun?”

“Anong mahirap???  You’re asking me to be part of your Bachelor Auction!!!”

“So???”

This bestfriend of his is really acting stubborn.  Alam niyang hindi ito magpapatalo sa kanya at lalong hindi ito aalis hangga’t hindi siya pumapayag sa gusto nitong mangyari.

“Richard you’re single so what’s the problem kung isama kita sa auction?  Isa pa you will only spend a weekend sa kung sino man ang makakakuha sa’yo.”

Yes, he’s single.  He’s been single since…

“I’m going to give you the money now, tell me kung magkano ang kailangan mo basta huwag mo na lang akong isali sa kalokohan mo.” Tiger-mode na talaga siya.

“Richard kapag tinanggap ko ang pera mo, ano na lang ang sasabihin ng iba kong male friends na pumayag na maging part ng auction.  Sasabihin nila unfair ako dahil kapag sa kanila hindi ako pumayag na basta magbigay lang sila ng pera then sa iyo pumayag ako.  Isa pa you’re my bestfriend tapos ikaw pa ang hindi ko napapayag.  Chard this is for the scholarship fund for the poor but deserving children, papahiyain mo ba ang mga bata just because of your pride?”  Seryosong paliwanag ni Rafi sa kaibigan.

Huminga ng malalim si Richard.  Hindi talaga siya mananalo sa bestfriend niyang si Rafi.

“Rafi, kapag ako napunta sa isang weirdo or some crazy woman I will never-ever forgive you.” He’s definitely warning her.

“So it means YES… right?”

Matagal bago siya sumagot.  “Ano pa nga bang magagawa ko?  Ang kulit mo eh!” walang magawang sagot niya kay Rafi.

“YES!!!”  Parang batang nagtatalon si Rafi sa tuwa.  “Don’t worry Chard lahat naman ng imbitado sa fund-raising party na yun ay puro respetadong tao kaya for sure there will be no crazy people around.  Ok, so now I will give all the details to Liza kung saan ang venue, time and everything. Chard, IKAW NA TALAGA!!!”

“Rafi will you please stop that.”

“Ok, ok.  O pano wala ng bawian yan ha and Chard seriously THANK YOU SO MUCH! I’ll go na.” Lumapit ito sa kanya and gave him a peck on the cheek.  Palabas na ito ng opisina pero tumingin ito ulit sa kanya.

“THE ELUSIVE RICHARD LIM!!!  For sure maraming matutuwang babae kapag nalaman nila na you’re part of the auction.  Promise it will be fun … bye bestfriend.” Pahabol na sabi nito.

Lalo siyang nanghina sa sinabi ni Rafi… paano nga kung ang highest bidder niya is a crazy woman.

“SOLD for 100, 000!!!”

100, 000 pesos???  Kahit sabihin pang para sa charity ito, hindi pa rin niya maisip kung bakit?  Sinong  matinong babae ang maglalabas ng 100, 000 pesos to spend a weekend with him?  He is seriously questioning his sanity right now and seriously questioning the sanity of whoever bid for him.

Nang matapos ang fundraising party ay lumapit sa kanya ang isang babaeng ayon sa bestfriend na si Rafi ay siyang highest bidder niya.  She looked serious, professional and yes she looks normal atleast.  Kahit papano ay nakahinga siya ng maluwag.

“Good-evening Mr. Lim.  I’m Miss Lapuz.”  The woman extended her hand on him for a handshake.

“Good-evening Miss Lapuz.  So I heard that you bid on me and won.”

“Actually Mr. Lim it is not me who bid on you kundi ang boss ko and she’s waiting for you right now.”

“Excuse me?”

“Here’s the key card, she’s in room 2015.” Ang casual na sabi nito sa kanya.

“And what makes you think na pupuntahan ko ang boss mo.  She is probably crazy for all I know.” Ang nakasimangot niyang sabi kay  Ms. Lapuz.

“Well sir… first, siya ang nanalo sa bidding.  Second, hindi naman siguro maganda kung babawiin niya ang pera just because hindi kayo tumupad sa usapan.  Third, sabi nila suplado kayo pero gentleman so parang nakakahiya namang hindi ninyo pupuntahan ang boss ko just because natatakot kayo.” Seryosong sabi nito.

She is professional alright.

Kinuha niya ang key card kay Ms. Lapuz.  Aalis na lamang ito ng muli niya itong tinawag.

“Ms. Lapuz, can I just atleast know who your boss is?”

Makahulugang ngiti ang binigay nito sa kanya. “Mr. Lim she’s waiting for you so kung ako sa inyo go now para makilala n’yo na siya.” At tuluyan na itong umalis.

Room 2015… he has the key card but he is not going to use it.  Hindi niya ugaling pumasok sa kuwartong hindi naman sa kanya.

Kumatok siya… isa, dalawang beses.  Sa pangatlong beses nakaramdam na siya ng inis.  Hindi porke’t naglabas ang babaing ito ng 100, 000 pesos ay magpapaka-importante na ito.

Maya-maya pa ay bumukas ang pinto…

“Good-evening Mr. Lim.”

“YOU???”

Chapter 6 – For The Record

Maya’s optimism stayed with her though the busy day. She haven’t heard from Richard for a day, but she’s positive he will call her again. He wanted her badly last night; he had made that obvious.  If nothing else, his desire for her would bring him to her.

She was tempted to call him, but her pride won’t let her initiate a call, embarrassed that she’ll become like the other woman in Richard’s life – desperate.

The day ends with no sign or call from Richard, but she consoled herself that he’ll probably call the next day.

The weekend passed, still no calls from Richard.

“Ay, parang nangyari na to. Déjà vu.”  She thought miserably as she came back for work on Monday.  She threw herself into her work to keep her busy, and tried to forget his smooth, deep voice saying, “Mine.” 

“Obviously, it was said in the throes of passion.” Maya thought feeling used and discarded.

“Maya, don’t forget our annual dinner party this Friday. It’s mandatory that all employees join this dinner hosted by Don Julio Ventura. I believe you already received the invitation?”

“Yes, Mr. Daniel.” Maya replied, and thought of clothes to wear, for the invitation says formal wear.  “Naku, problema.  Ano kayang isusuot ko?” 

The first person that came into her mind is Emman.  He seems to know a lot of things, and so she immediately dialed his mobile number to ask for help.

“Maya gurl, kamusta?  Anong balita?” Emman said cheerfully on the other line.

“Emman, I need a big favor eh.”

“Basta ikaw, oo na agad ang sagot.”

“Pede mo ba akong samahan to shop later?  I need to buy a dress for a formal dinner this coming Friday.”

“Oh my pink wall! –” Emman gushed with excitement. “Of course, sasamahan kita, I know just the right place.”

“Thank ha.  Akong taya mamya for dinner.”

“Naku, ok lang kahit walang threat. It will be my pleasure to accompany you.  Forte ko yata ang shopping.  Sunduin kita dyan later after office hours?”

“Sige, see you.”  Maya hung up the phone, happy with the thought of shopping for her dress.  She excitedly went back to work and forgot about her misery of not hearing from Richard.

Just like any other year, VCE’s annual dinner party is not to be missed. It’s always grand, and formal that every employee is always looking forward to it every year.

Maya stepped out of the lift as it swept open to the reception area of Rizal Ballroom in level 2 of Shangri-La Makati City. She looked at the animated crowd milling around, looking elegant in formal clothes.  Thanks to Emman, she’s able to find the right dress for this event.  He also volunteered to do her makeup, and even brought her to the venue with a promise to pick her up after the party once she calls.

Emman was her happy thought when she went in to the ballroom wearing panels of cream chiffon that gathered in the middle, swept upward in a deeply cut halter top with a clasp behind her neck, which left her arms, shoulders, and upper back bare.  Her hair was caught up in an elegant chignon, highlighting her slightly high cheekbones, and dark eyes.

She felt confident and beautiful as she walk towards the banquet table reserved for their department.  She looked around for familiar faces until she came face to face with James Ventura, looking closely at her, smiling with his gaiety disposition.  He looks elegant in a formal black tie, looking tall and handsome.

“Ms. Maya Dela Rosa.”  James said a he approach her. “Maya, it’s lovely to see you again.”

“Sir James – “

“James… remember?” He took her elbow and started to guide her to the banquet table. “Let’s go?”

Maya smile and nodded hesitatingly.  She felt uneasy to be zeroed in by James. People were noticing them, and she felt their whispers behind her back as they walk past the crowd.

“O, kalma ka lang.” James said in a low voice, and teased her, “I always get that when I pass by.  Don’t worry, ako yong tinitingnan nila, at hindi ikaw.”

Maya can’t help but laughed at his remark and suddenly felt relax with his sense of humor.  He always has a way of making her feel comfortable.

As they passed by a few tables, she heard a familiar voice from a distance, and cautiously glanced about just as a group of people shifted to one side.

And there was Richard…

He was standing across the room, talking to someone.  Maya’s heart pounded as her gaze took in his handsome feature, looking elegant in a tailored dark suit.  She noticed everything about him, including the beautiful tall woman he was talking to; her hand resting familiarly on his sleeve.

Maya paused, and started to step back. She felt jealousy, and a helpless yearning – an unwanted emotion to a man, a rake, a player, whom she had waited to call over the weekend.  “I’m just another casualty.” Maya thought, feeling downcast.

“Is something wrong?” James asked, and followed her line of vision.  “Ah, ok, I get it.  Richard Lim, and his lady friend.”

“Po?”

 “Maya, you’re very transparent.  Obviously, I can see your discomfort seeing Richard and Atty Ghie.  Hey, I won’t ask questions, but can I give you an unsolicited advise?”

Maya turned toward him and nodded.

“Relax, ok?  Take a deep breath.  I’ll be close at hand when you need a cushion from Richard.”

“Thank you, James.” She took a deep breath just as James suggested, and felt a bit of calm and confident after a while.

Shortly afterward, James became absorbed in a conversation with the vice president on the other side of the room so Maya mingled around, talking and listening to her colleagues about work.

“Hello Maya.” Said an achingly familiar voice from behind her.

Maya’s whole body froze at the sound of Richard’s voice.  She slowly forced herself to turn around and saw amusement in his eyes.

“Hello Richard.” She managed to smile although she felt like walking out on him.

She reluctantly turned a bright and expectant smile on his companion, whom he promptly introduced to her as “Ghie, a friend.”

Anguish poured through Maya at the thought of him with another woman. She mentally forced herself to stay calm, and to treat him with casual, impersonal friendliness.

She was ready to bolt out when she heard James from behind her. “Maya? I’ve been looking all over for you.” He greeted Richard and Atty Ghie before he turned back his attention to Maya, and said.  “Let’s go. I want to introduce you to someone.” 

With the last remaining ounce of her vanishing calmness, Maya raised her eyes to Richard’s inscrutable features, and politely said, “Please excuse us.”

James took her by the elbow, and guided her towards a group of people for introductions.

During the next hour, they circulated around.  James introduced her to his business partners, and friends.  For the rest of the evening, she avoided looking at Richard’s direction. Thrice, she casually turned, and encountered his piercing stare, and all those times, she managed to look right past him, as if he’s not there.

After two hours, she had enough.  She can’t stand the tension of being in the same room with Richard.  She looked for a place of solitude, and went out of the ballroom to the lounge in the reception area.  “Makauwi na nga.” She told herself as she opened her purse to take out her cell phone.

“Did you miss me?”  Richard’s deep voice interrupted her act in dialing Emman’s number. She turned slowly to the voice, and saw him standing in front of her with his hands on his pockets looking closely at her.

“I’ve been busy.” She said quickly, and casually.

He unhurriedly perched his hip on the sofa arm, fold his arms over his chest, and studied her in silence.  “There’s no harm in admitting you missed your lover.” He teased.

Her composure slipped a bit, and impulsively hissed, “You’re not my lover. We just had a casual sex – that’s all.”

“Right. Let’s go.” Richard abruptly stood up; firmly clasped her hands to stand, and literally dragged her towards the lift area.

“Saan?”Maya said in a confused expression.

“To my place or yours, it doesn’t matter.”

Maya stopped, jerked her hand away from Richard, and snapped at him, “Ganito na lang ba parati?  You call when it’s convenient to you? And how about that poor woman who’s with you?”

“Ghie? – don’t tell me you’re jealous.” Richard’s brow flicked upward in amused speculation.

“I’m not.” Maya retorted scornfully.

Richard looked at her for a long moment, and with a grim laugh, he said “You are jealous, and I think you missed me.”

Maya sighed in defeat as she pressed the lift button. “Richard, I’m tired so let’s stop this.  I’m going home.”

Richard ran his hand around the back of his neck as he struggled to respond – a long battle going on in his mind before he reluctantly said in a dangerously brusque tone, “You’re driving me crazy! I don’t know why I need to tell you this, but for the record, I intend to call you this weekend.  I just arrived from my business trip in Singapore and went straight to this damn dinner party knowing that you’re here.  And for your information, Ghie is a friend, and we don’t have any lewd relationship.”

Maya was stunned at his barrage of revelations.  She kept her silence, understanding how it must have been an effort for him to explain this to her; knowing that this is something novel for him and totally out of his character.

She contemplated on how to approach him in this mood when her thoughts were interrupted by Richard’s quip, “Are we done with our lovers’ quarrel?”

She breathe an imperceptible sigh of relief, and inclined her head in a slow nod to Richard, a hint of smile showing in her eyes.

After a brief silence, she reached for his hand, and laced her fingers through him as they step into the lift together.

Chapter 5 – The Green-Eyed Monster

He took her to a luxurious 5-star casino hotel in Manila for dinner.  Maya’s gaze strayed admiringly at the place. Nothing prepared her for the sight that greeted her – the place is huge and beautiful.  The atmosphere boldly speaks of sophistication, and elegance.  She surveyed the people – some are vaguely familiar faces as she’d seen them on television, and magazines.

She glanced at Richard who seems very much at ease with his surroundings.  He wore a suit that personified sophistication, and calm self-assurance.  He looked neither impressed nor intimidated by the assembly of the beautiful and the rich strolling about, chattering and mingling with each other.

Maya consciously checked on her appearance on the huge wall mirror at the hotel’s receiving area, and declared to herself that her dark blue one piece, sleeveless dress seems suited enough for this place.

After dinner, they went inside the casino. Maya look around past the tables populated by wealthy men, and well-kept women wearing glittering jewels.

 “Are you looking for something in particular?”  Richard asked, amused by Maya’s awe with the place.

“I’m actually very lucky with cards.”  Maya replied, remembering how she’s fond of playing unguy-unguyan in her hometown.

Richard led her to a card table, and although Maya inwardly shuddered at the minimum requirement to play, she opened her purse, and took a traveler’s check that she kept from her previous regional on-site travel.

“Where can I cash this?”

“Maya, I intend to back you up otherwise I wouldn’t have taken you here.”

“Richard, I can’t gamble with your money, and please don’t insist.”

“Ok… – The cashier’s window is over there” Richard pointed at the direction across their seat while he watched her walk, admiring the graceful sway of her hips.

“Beautiful” the man from behind him remarked, his gaze also following Maya.

Richard looked behind him, and recognized James Ventura, the only son of Julio Ventura, owner of VCE Group of Companies.  “Mr. Ventura… Surprise seeing you here.”

“Likewise… Who’s the lucky lady?” James asked, still looking at Maya at the cashier’s window.

“No one that will interest you.” Richard replied in a chilly voice.

Maya came back to the table, and felt an air of friction between Richard, and the man beside him.

“Uhmm, Richard? Anything wrong?”

Richard was frowning.  Rude as it may seem, but he has no intention of introducing Maya to James.

“Ehem… Hi, Ako nga pala si James.  James Ventura. I’m Richard’s business partner. How are you?”  James extended his hand to Maya.

“Hi, I’m Maya Dela Rosa.” Maya smiled warmly, and also extended her hand to acknowledge him.  “If you don’t mind me asking, are you related to VCE? Familiar po kase surname nyo.”

“How did you guessed?” James smiled charmingly at her.  When he saw that Maya froze with the realization, he added teasingly, “My dad is the owner, and I worked for him.” 

Maya snapped out from her shock, and smiled back at James.  “I should call you Sir then, because I’m actually working at VCE.”

“Really?… I should have known. How did I missed such a beautiful woman right in front of my nose?  The HR personnel will hear from me tomorrow for not introducing you to me.” James teased, and added “Call me James, ok?”

James’ sense of humor was effective because that made Maya laugh. Her conversations with him became relax, and she completely forgot about playing cards.

Richard silently grumbled, watching the exchanges between Maya and James.  He can’t explain why this bothers him.  He felt a twinge of something.  Jealousy?  He never felt this before even with her ex-girlfriend of 5 years.

“Maya, I think we should go?  It’s getting late.  James, sorry, but we need to go.” Richard rudely interrupted their conversations, and he doesn’t care.  He’s pissed, irritated with James, and he doesn’t want Maya to talk to anyone but himself.

James replied with a nod to Richard, and returned his attention to Maya, “I’m glad to meet you, Maya.  I’ll see you at the office?”

Maya acknowledged, and smiled back to James.

Richard was quiet all throughout the trip.  Maya felt that something was bothering him, and was worried of being closed away with him in the car.  She heard a lot of stories of him lashing out words when he is angry.  She couldn’t tell though – he seemed relax, sort of scary calm.

After an hour of silence, she noticed that Richard parked his car in the basement parking of his condominium.  Richard looked at Maya expecting her to object.  He silently got off the car, and opened the door for her, leading her to the set of lifts.

Inside the lift, Maya was deep in her thoughts trying to weigh the consequences of what she’s doing here with Richard. Before she even began to have doubts, he reached for her, kissing her until she was red-faced and out of breath.  With an easy motion, he picked her up just when the lift opens to the penthouse. He carried her to the waiting silence of the huge bed, and started to undress her.

“Wait… Richard.” Maya said lamely, as she holds on to her dress.

Richard brows lifted in a silent question.

Embarrassed, Maya mumbled, “Uhmmm… ”

When no other words were forthcoming from Maya, Richard bent his head, and kissed her until her lips parted.  She thought, this was the same flavor that haunted her for the past two weeks.  It was in his breath, tongue, scent, something that’s drugging her and drawing her to him.  She tried to draw as much of it as she can, wrapping her arms on Richard’s neck.

By morning, Maya felt someone was staring at her.  She opened her eyes, and saw Richard leaning and looking closely at her.  She remembered the night, of the many times that he woke her up with his lovemaking.  She had done things with him, and wickedly let her experience all sorts of positions that seemed illegal.  Maya blushed at the thought.

Their gazes held, and Richard laid his hand over Maya’s knees.  The warmth of his hand penetrated the sheet.  “You all right?”  Richard asked gently.

“Dang! His gaze, his smile, his dimple.” Maya thought, “He had this ability to disarm me, showing concern when I expected him to be arrogant and masungit.”  Maya wondered if she can let him go easily when the time comes that he no longer wants her company in bed.

“IT’S OUR FAMILY…”

Hindi pa rin mawala ang ngiti sa mga labi ni Maya dahil sa mga salitang ito na binitiwan sakanya ni Richard.

Yes,It’s their 2nd week of being together.At eto pa nga’t lalo silang nagiging matibay na bagaman di pa nila sinasabi sa mga bata,lalo pa ring naguumapaw ang pagmamahal nila sa isa’t isa.

Kasama si Maya sa family outing ng mga Lim sa Camayan Beach Resort sa Subic.Sinundo muna sya nila Ser Chief sa condo.

Richard : happy birthday Maya!
Abby & Nikki: happy birthday
ate maya!
Abby: i’m so happy kasi kasama ka po namin (Hugs maya)
Maya: thanks baby!Ako din baby e..masayang masaya ako kasi makakasama kita,namiss kaya kita ng sobra!
Luke: buti ate maya wala kang flight ngayon..
Maya: oo nga luke e,sakto nga kasi binigyan kami ng time airways ng bakasyon.

Dumating na sila sya mansion,nandun at handa na rin sina Manang fe Doris at Sabel dala ang kanilang mga gamit.

Doris: day!!!handa na ang bathing suit namin!
Sabel: oo nga maya!rampang rampa na kami sa dagat! Join ka na!Haha!
Maya: oo sabel,doris meron akong baong pangswimming..pero,si abby,naunahan na kayo..
Manang fe: oh sya,naunahan na pala kayo ni abby kay maya,kaya dalhin nyo na lang ang mga gamit sa sasakyan.
Doris: ayun,ayun naman pala,may iuutos naman pala..tara sabel..

Dumating naman si Richard na kakatapos lang i-check ang mga sasakyan.

Maya: baby,ayos na ba ung mga gamit mo?
Abby: opo ate maya..
Maya: e kayo?nikki at luke?okay na ba ung sa inyo?

Si richard,napapangiti lang sa natutunghayan.

Nikki & Luke: (nagkatinginan muna) ahm yes,ate maya..
Nikki: were almost packed na.
Maya: okay,e nikki..ung saturday watch mo?nadala mo ba?
Nikki: oh..that one!i almost forgot na naman!buti anjan ka ate maya,thanks for reminding me.
Maya: (smiles) sun glasses at shades luke?baka kailanganin mo.
Luke: ay oo nga..tara niks!sabay na tayong umakyat sa taas.
Richard: bilisan nyo guys,sumunod na lang kayo sa amin.Maya Abby?let’s go?
Abby: okay daddy..ate maya,tabi po tayo ha?
Maya: sure baby!

Hand in hand,pumunta na silang tatlo sa sasakyan.Samantala,umakyat muna saglit sa kwarto si nikki at luke para balikan ang mga nakalimutan nila..

Nikki: kuya,si ate maya?Parang there’s something…hmm.. I can’t explain e.
Luke: ano naman yun niks?
N: basta,I think she’s iba today..
L: iba?panong iba?is it because its her birthday?
N: no,i mean..haven’t you noticed her kanina?the way she care about us?look,She asked us na rin like abby and parang asikasong asikaso pa nya tayo. She even checked our things one by one..e diba dati,kay abby lang naman sya ganun?
L: and so?wala naman masama dun ah..ganun naman talaga si ate maya..maalaga,maasikaso.
N: I know,it’s just that..uhm..uhm..is she the one that dad’s dating?is she dad’s girlfriend?
L: huh?niks!ano ba yang mga pinag-iiisip mo?I think she missed us lang kaya sya ganun..tigilan mo na nga yang pagiging suspicious mo.
N: uhm,okay..kaya tara na nga..baka they’re waiting na.

Si Mang Lem ang driver ng van kung san nakasakay sila manang fe,samantala nasa kotse naman sina Richard,Maya,abby,nikki at luke.

Richard: guys,tumulong muna kayo sa pagbitbit ng gamit.

N: abby,let’s follow ate doris na,para makita na natin ung hotel and rooms natin.

M: sige baby,susunod na lang ako..tutulong muna kong magbaba ng iba pang gamit.

Nauna na pumasok sa loob sina manang fe,kasama ang mga bata nahuli naman sina maya at richard.

Richard: ang lungkot ko sa byahe..
Maya: oh bakit naman?
R: hindi kasi kita katabi.
M: (blushes) ikaw talaga,puro ka kalokohan,tara na sa loob baka magtaka sila kung bakit ang tagal natin.
R: maya,you think its the right time to tell the kids?
M: hmm..tignan natin ser chief,humanap tau ng tamang tyempo..pero sa ngaun,magpakasaya muna tayo.
R: okay,no pressure maya..so let’s go?
M: okay..

Sumunod na sila sa loob..
Two rooms are reserved for them.Ung isa ay para sa mag-aama,at ung isa naman ay para kila manang fe.

Richard: maya,where are you going?
Maya: dun sa room namin,kina manang fe.
R: no,dito ka samin,dito mo na ilagay ung gamit mo.
M: ser chief,hindi na..dun na ko kasama nila manang fe.
R: maya naman,can you please stay with me?

Biglang lumabas si nikki sa kwarto at naabutan ang pagtatalo nila maya at richard.

Nikki: dad?ate maya?what’s going on here?
Maya & richard: (na-tense/awkwardmode nagulat kasi sa pagsulpot ni Nikki)
R: uhm..nothing niks,eto kasi si Maya..uhmm..
N: (naghihintay sa isasagot ng dad nya) hmm..Why is it that,your like,uhmm..are you arguing?
R: no,were not arguing..si maya kasi nag-aalala na baka may mga nakalimutan daw ako sa kotse.
M: oo nga nikki,alam mo naman ‘tong daddy nyo,kahit nga cellphone nya nakakalimutan nya di ba?heheh..
N: oh..I see..

Bigla naman dumating si abby..

Abby: ate nikki let’s go?ahh..ate maya!!!!come on!ilagay mo na po ung gamit nyo dito sa room natin para makapagbeach na tayo.Daddy,okay lang po ba?if ate maya will stay here with us sa room natin?
R: (in his mind: thanks!abby!youre my savior!) ofcourse baby..madami na rin naman sila manang fe sa kabilang room,and besides,we have two beds here right?
M: ah baby kasi—-

N: yes ate maya!and i think,that’s a brilliant idea,why don’t you join us?namiss ka rin namin nila kuya,lalo na to’ si dad…ah I mean si abby..
M & R : (nagkatinginan,shocked sa sinabi ni nikki)
Abby: ate maya,daddy! Pupunta na po kami sa beach,andun na si kuya..ipasok nyo na lang po ung gamit nyo sa room..
R: okay baby,niks..watch your little sister,susunod kami sa inyo ni maya,aayusin lang namin ung gamit namin.
N: okay dad,see you na lang sa beach..come on baby..

Naiwan na sa loob ng kwarto si maya at richard.

M: Hay..ser chief!grabe!ikaw kasi e..
R: oh anong ako? E nagpapapilit ka pa kasi.
M: eee kasi naman nakakahiya sa mga bata kung dito pa ko sa inyo.
R: maya,abby wants you to be here,with us..
M: kahit na,baka magtaka sila..pati sila manang fe.
R: manang fe knows it already.
M: e sila sabel,doris at joma?pano kung magtanong?
R: they will not do that.
M: and how sure you are?

Nasa ganun silang pagtatalo nang pumasok naman si Luke.

L: oops!sorry dad,ate maya,pumasok na lang ako,by the way,it’s our room naman so i think okay lang..teka,mukang may pinagtatalunan po kayo ah.
R: uhm..no son.
M: oo nga,wala yun luke.
L: hehehe!chill,may kukunin lang naman ako…teka,san kaya pinatong ni nikki..ayun,the shades! (Sabay labas ng kwarto,pero bago un kumindat muna sa dad nya at nakita naman ni maya)

M & Richard: (nagkatinginan)
R: (iiling iling) my son is such a silly kid!
M: (medyo natatawa) kita mo na ser chief?hindi talaga maganda ang lagay ko dito!
R: maya,please..wag na natin pagtalunan to’ baka lalo pa tayong mahalata ng mga bata.
M: hmm..sige na nga,mukang wala na kong magagawa.
R: that’s my girlfriend.
M: ssshhh!wag ka ngang maingay!
R: so dito ka na ha?tabi tayo.
M: tse..tumigil ka nga,mamaya may makarinig sayo jan.

Masaya ang buong araw ng pamilya,nagswimming sa beach nagpicture taking,nagkainan at kung anu-ano pa.

Lumipas ang napakasayang kaarawan ni Maya,laking pasasalamat nya dahil ang pangalwang pamilya nya ang kapiling nya sa nakaspecial nyang araw.

Lumubog na ang araw at halos lahat ay nagpapahinga na sa loob ng hotel,natapos na sila sa hapunan,ang mga bata ay nasa room na nila ganun din sina doris,joma at sabel.

Samantala si Maya at manang fe naman ay naguusap Habang nagliligpit sa may dining table.

Manang fe: alam mo maya,masayang masaya ako para sayo.
Maya: salamat po manang fe,maraming maraming salamat po..sobrang saya ko po ngayon.
Mf: tanging hiling ko lang,sana ikaw na ang babaeng pakasalan ni ricardo.
M: (nagulat) po?’hmmm..
Mf: alam ko na maya,at masaya ko para sa inyo..sige na,sumunod kana sa kwarto nyo,ako na dito.
M: Manang fe naman,sasamahan ko po muna kayo..
Mf: hindi na maya,kaya ko na ito.
M: manang fe talaga,ayaw papigil,sige na nga po..goodnight manang fe! (Sabay yakap sa matanda)

One bed occupied…yan ang nadatnan nya sa kwarto nila,mahimbing na ang tulog ng magkakapatid,wala si richard sa kwarto.

M (in her mind) so?tabi nga kami ni ser chief?hindi pwede yun..abby naman kasi,bat jan ka sa kuya’t ate mo tumabi?kala ko ba tabi tayo?hindi mo naman ako hinintay..ang hirap naman nito..kung pwede ko lang buhatin si nikki at ilipat sa pagitan namin ni ser chief e..teka,nasan na nga pala yun?

Ginala nya ang kanyang paningin sa loob ng kwarto,pero walang gwapong singkit syang nakita,kaya Isa-isa nya na lang nilapitan ang tila tatlong anghel na natutulog,hinalikan nya ang mga ito sa noo at kinumutan ang mga ito.
Nakita naman yon ng nakasilip na singkit na mata ni Richard at lubha syang nagalak sa nakita.Lubos pa syang naligayahan sa narinig…

M: goodnight luke,nikki and baby abby ko..mahal ko kayo.

Lumabas na muna si maya sa dalampasigan,para magpahangin at maglakad lakad.Nang may biglang yumakap mula sa likuran nya,walang iba kundi si Richard.

R: happy birthday maya ko..
M: tinawag mo kong maya ko?
R: yes,ayaw mo?
M: hindi,gustong gusto ko!ang ganda nga e..
R: so what are doing here alone?di mo man lang ako tinawag.
M: hindi kaya kita makita,hinahanap nga kita e..san kaba galing?
R: jan jan lang sa tabi tabi..bumili lang ng yelo.
M: hahaha! Alam mo,sa tagal nating magkasama,ngayon lang ako natawa sa joke mo..
R: nag-isip talaga ko ng magandang joke para mapatawa ko ang mahal kong maya sa birthday nya.
M: salamat ser chief ha…salamat sa lahat lahat
R: like what i’ve said before,all i really want is for you to be happy,I want us to be happy.

M: I love you ser chief.

R: I love you maya.

They end their night with a sweet, tender and romantic kiss..finally,their lips landed to each other..walang liza at emman na mang-iistorbo at napakapayapa pa ng lugar,as in sobrang tahimik.

Holding hands na silang bumalik sa hotel,at nagtungo sa room nila para makapagpahinga nang may isang batang babae silang naabutan sa may lobby ng hotel..And it was their baby,si abby….so mabilisan namang nag bitaw ang kanilang mga kamay.

Abby: (tumakbo papalapit sa dalawa) dad! Ate maya!
Maya: baby,bat ka nandito?gabing gabi na ah..nagising kaba?
A: opo,and I was looking for the both of you,I had a bad dream po kasi kaya nagising ako.
R: (hugs abby) dont worry baby,ate maya and I were here na.
A: uhm..ate maya,daddy? Can you please sleep beside me?
M: oo naman baby.
R: sure baby,tatabihan ka namin..halika na..

Pabor na pabor ang mamang singkit sa hiling ng bunsong anak nya,ayun na nga’t nasa iisang kama na sila..nasa gitna ni maya at richard si abby..parang happy family na talaga! Hahay!

Nakayakap si Maya kay abby,at si abby naman ay pinayakap si ser chief sakanya..so ang kamay bg secret lovers ay magkahawak sa gitna ni abby..

Abby: goodnight daddy,goodnight mommy..
R & M : (nanlaki ang mata,nagulat sa sinabi ni abby) what? Ano un baby?
Abby: zZzzzzz!

Dahil tinulugan at naisahan sila ni abby,natulog na lang din ang dalawa.

Kinabukasan,maagang nagising si nikki..sya ang pinakanaunang nagising sa lahat sa kwarto nila.
Bumangon sya ng kama at iniwan na si luke na nag-iisa.

N: (looking for abby) uhmm..where’s abby? Ah..she’s here pala with dad and ate maya..aw..they’re so cute! Kuya!wake up!wake up!
L: anu ba yun niks?istorbo ka naman e.
N: gumising ka na kasi,it’s almost 7:00 o’clock na!
L: oh?ang aga pa nun ah..
N: you promise me na sasamahan mo ako di ba? I will buy some pasalubong na..
L: ganito kaaga?
N: kuya,syempre we will make ayos ayos pa,we will eat breakfast pa,so get up na!tignan mo nga oh!may laway ka pa! Haha!
L: asarin mo ko,di kita sasamahan…
N: no,no,no!hindi na..bangon na kasi.
L: eto na..
N: and kuya,just look at them oh!they’re so cute!

L: mabuti pa nga,nang di na rin tayo makaistorbo kina mom and dad,este kay ate maya pala..i’m sure they need some rest,pagod sila sa….sa…hmm..san nga kaya?at bat naman sila mapapagod kagabi? (Iiling iling) hay..nahahawa na ko sa pagiging suspicious ni niks! (Kamot sa ulo)

Naiwan sa kwarto ang secret lovers…tulog na tulog pa rin sila,halos kalahating oras na ang lumipas nang makaalis na ang mga bata.

8:30 am nang magising si maya..laking gulat nya nang makitang magkayakap na sila ni ser chief sa kama at wala na si abby sa pagitan nila.

Lumabas na si maya sa cr,nakaupo naman si sc sa kama.

M: uhm..wala na pala ung mga bata,namasyal siguro.

R: makakapagsolo pa tayo even just for a minute,much better if hours!
M: ser chief,nawala na ung antok ko.
R: who said were going back to bed and sleep again?

Sabay silang mapapalingon sa may pintuan..pero wala naman ang mga bata..narinig lang nila ang mga boses nito na nagmumula sa labas ng hotel,pagsilip nila sa bintana,nagkakasiyahan at naglalaro lang pala ang mga ito ng sharade kasama nina doris,joma,sabel at manang fe..sakto namang ang inaaction ni joma nun ay si ser chief na nahulaan ng mga bata..

M: hay!kinabahan na naman ako!
R: naglalaro lang pala sila.
M: alam mo,kahapon pa nagpaparamdam ung mga bata.
R: I think we should tell them now.
M: (pinigilan ni maya) ser chief! Di pa yata ako ready..
R: hahah!youre not yet ready?hmm..maybe the breakfast,breakfast is ready..
M: hay..kulit!ang corny naman ng joke..

The day went on,kagaya ng unang araw nila sa beach,masaya na naman silang lahat.The whole family spend their time together doing summer activities and non-stop happiness filled their stay in the beach..

Kinagabihan,magkakasama ang buong pamilya,nag-aayos ng bonfire sina luke at joma..

Luke: wala pa rin ba kuya joma?
Joma: wala pa e..
Richard: let me try..
Joma: oh ayan pala si ser e..

While ser chief working on the bonfire,lahat ay nakatingin sakanya..hanggang sa napa-apoy nya na ito.

Luke: wow!ang gumagana na!thanks dad!hahaha!pwede nang mag-asawa si dad!!!

Nagulat naman si Maya,bagama’t alam nyang biro lang ito ng anak,naapektuhan din sya dito..

Ngayon,ay si Maya at Richard na lang ang nasa may dalampasigan…nag-uusap silang dalawa.

Maya: ang hirap magsinungaling, nakokonsensya ako…
Richard: then we will tell them (hold maya’s hands)

Lingid sa kanilang kaalaman,may mga matang nakamatyag sa kanila sa di kalayuan..

Habang nasa loob na ang lahat ng hotel..

Richard: everyone..specially kids,we need to tell you something. You know that I already have a girlfriend right?
Kids: (nods)
Sabel and Doris: (nagulat) ha???
Then bulungan..
Sabel to doris :Girlfriend na pala…
Doris to sabel: akala ko dinedate palang?
Joma: (nakibulong din)sssh!!wag kaung maingay!si ser!
Manang fe: doris!sabel!joma! Manahimik nga kayo..

Balik tayo kay Richard…

All were shocked about the revelation..sina doris at sabel ay napatili pa,si joma ay nakisigaw din at si manang fe ay nakangiti. But,little they realized the kids,yes..except the kids..ikinagulat yun ni maya at richard..takang taka sila dahil walang expression ang mga ito,hindi man lang nagulat or what.Lubos na Ipinagalala yun ni Maya at richard..Hindi nila alam kung anong tumatakbo ngayon sa isip ng mga bata….
